received on this Monday, the Jazz in their home stadium, the EnergySolutions Arena , the team the Dallas Mavericks . And even those who are not interested in American basketball, the latest is probably the name sound familiar, or at least the name of one of their best players: Dirk Nowitzki, a German export hit. What could be better than to see me live in my current role as also of German exports in time to play with some like-minded people?
The stadium
Die Utah Jazz wurden 1974 als New Orleans Jazz gegründet, erhielten its new name, but in 1979, when they moved to Salt Lake City. Her best result was the two-time entry into the NBA finals in the nineties of last century. Both times they lost, however, against the Chicago Bulls .
A view of the team (. The white background Yes, I had to photograph not necessarily the best seat):
fans and atmosphere
Fans: Almost exclusively Jazz -trailer, over the entire stadium distributed, identifiable by their shirts and of course the cheering and whistling in the suitable moments.
The atmosphere: In the beginning almost hypothermic. It is obviously good form, not to kick, but only a half hour or hour to appear later. Really fill the stadium was only towards the end, and since then the mood was really good. Consistently but probably just as good form is, the stadium was abandoned a quarter of an hour before the game end. And in between was of course at least once to buy food and drink.
The trappings
beginning a presentation of the American national anthem , solo and a cappella, very soul strength. The whole stadium stood with hand on heart.
In the numerous small-scale activities repeatedly breaks and profit of the games even more numerous sponsors, of course, did not remain unmentioned (even won someone a gift voucher, sometimes gabs distributed food from a restaurant in the lower blocks) or performances by the cheerleaders.
The game
I almost forgot: A basketball game was held this evening also still take place: The Utah Jazz against the Dallas Mavericks - or did I mention?
The game itself was certainly on the first three quarters
Here are some impressions:
Before Game while warming up (additional task: Find the Dirk!):
