How Get Married Mount & Blade

Scotland in (less than) four days - Day 2

And Hokage: Monday, 18 October 2010, Day Two. Who wants to follow my directions the day on the card that can use this route plan as a guide.

After our castle ...

... visit the day before so the opening times had been the victim, we started on Monday morning, the second attempt, and this time we were successful. Admission costs a No less than 13 pounds (there are probably even 14), but it should be worth it:
Edinburgh Castle is an attraction that brings in turn a number of attractions such as would be the really unimpressive St . Margaret's Chapel :

It was built in the 12th century and is the oldest surviving single building of the castle, maybe even the whole city.
guarded front of the chapel Mons Meg castle and city:

Leider herrschte behind this impressive door ...

... taking photographs, so I would refer to pictures of the crown, sword and scepter to the appropriate bottom of the castle site .
little more than an hour we spent so at the castle, where we have many other parts of buildings, spaces and exhibitions in fast-forward and certainly took away are even more next left, before we took the rented car were headed our next day's destination. As a vehicle under a light motorized Chevrolet Aveo served with switching inhibition in fourth gear.

Here are some words to road traffic in the UK: the islanders know, so continue to insist on the traffic systems and for better or worse, we had to adapt to this archaic practice (of the distance and speed information in miles instead of kilometers, not to mention all times). The getting used to the other side of the road I felt as a not so difficult, but it is more of a challenge: If you go to the right side of the car at the wheel sits, the gear is of course left, so the switching mainly by the unusual hand less makes intuitive. In the end we got but all journeys without incident (apart from maybe one, see below) behind us. Our next

Goal was a few kilometers miles south of the city, in the village of Roslin. On the trail of Dan Brown's stories walking there, we visited the Rosslyn Chapel which until recently was still a relatively unknown, according to the release of Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code (original: The Da Vinci Code developed) to a true pilgrimage, it is still one of the platforms for its action. From the outside, the chapel was due to ongoing renovations, unfortunately not very photogenic impression ...

... and inside there was again even taking photographs. But if any of conspiracy theories, Templar and Masonic references, may inspire the search for the Holy Grail, and similar stories for the chapels inside, and not least the wonderfully compelling and well-to-understand English recited led chapel tour a mine of allusions and points of contact. The English Wikipedia article about the chapel gives a first impression.

And off we went towards Mordor to Wallace Monument in Stirling :

on a hill outside the city was this tower in the 19th century in honor of the Scottish freedom fighter and national hero Sir William Wallace built. (See the next picture on the left side of the tower) A spiral staircase leads up ...

... punctuated by areas with exhibits and information about the monument and its namesake:

is at the top of the stairs, then finally a viewing platform, sharing the views of the city and surrounding areas:

This was followed by longer sections back in the car, a stop on the banks of Loch Lomond in which we deal with on a Tourist Information , which is probably spending spree, tourist information. And finally, it began to dawn again, we left the major streets, right into the nature of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park (whose site way is a disaster in terms of information processing and presentation ).

Um ein Haar hätten wir dabei selbst unser Abendessen erlegt – denn nach a curve in the forest once stood on deer on the roadway. A rapidly initiated braking maneuvers, however, prevented more serious consequences for both sides. Instead, we rested then charge Inn , a somewhat comfortable lying outside of Callander economy:

The return trip to Edinburgh then led again by the now lit up at night Stirling, which we used as an opportunity to capture some impressions of the local town and castle:

late, we finally reached our base camp again, and a night with little sleep was in the air, because for the next day, our last full in Scotland, was the longest tour planned.

Bronze Paint Bathroom

Scotland (less than) four days - Prologue and Day 1

I ring the new blog with pictures of the year - last year, from my Scotland holiday in the autumn of 2010.

A few basic data about this: The holiday was held from 17 to 20 October, the base camp was located in Edinburgh, the Scottish capital. was on and off each time at some point around noon, so that the four days exactly made to about three shrank. As the target had my passenger or flyer Stefan and I set ourselves to take as many of the attractions of Edinburgh and of course to explore the Scottish Highlands - in other words, a very ambitious program, considering that you really alone for three days in Edinburgh could spend even without being reminded of it would be boring. packed line was also the timetable.

for the arrival day (a Sunday) we had the sights of the city itself made us during day 2 and 3 in the area and should eventually lead to the Highlands. After check-in, Check-in and abundant late lunch ( Haggis pie) it was about four heading into the city, past the Northbridge ...

... and on Scott Monument (a monument , named not for the Scots, the Scots , but built in honor of the Scottish writer Sir Walter Scott ) was:

Gone are at these first two milestones led us our exploration tour in the National Gallery of Scotland :

Der weitere Weg führte uns die Royal Mile down, and therefore the most important and probably the most famous crossing of Edinburgh's Old Town:

Gladstone's Land , a restored tenement house from the 17th century (the small building directly behind the right half of the green bus), we looked at only from the outside ...

... as opposed to St Giles' Cathedral , Edinburgh's main church, which we entered also

The tower is one way Reproduction of the Scottish crown represent.
A short detour took us then to Greyfriars Kirk Yard , a historic cemetery (but which is still used):

a little scary insight into the history of this grant, the following grave Building:

One might wonder why it was necessary to secure a grave with a grid: Were the survivors fear before their dead or to their dead? The latter was the case, as a small billboard indicated:
This iron mort safe which placed over the grave to grave-robbers from preventable digging up the body for sale to the anatomy class in the Medical School. Many other measures were taken in the 18th and 19th centuries to Prevent This repulsive trade, Which continued until the Anatomy Act was passed in 1832.
In other words, to be sure who wanted his dead peace was not disturbed by curious students and professors of anatomy, could be buried behind bars.
is the most famous Greyfriars Kirk Yard but probably for the story of Greyfriars Bobby : This dog is the grave of his dead master for 14 years until have his own death in 1872, watched faithfully. In his honor in front of the cemetery, a statue was erected in life size:

We went down the Royal Mile ...

... until we finally arrived at its lower end were. There were several attractions to admire and photograph. First, the Scottish Parliament building ...

... on the other Holyrood Palace , the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland:

Unfortunately, the latter of course was also closed already.
A point was still on the interest list for that day: Edinburgh's "home mountain", Arthur's Seat :

This extinct volcano is located - as in the previous photo easy to see - in the immediate vicinity to Parliament House and the Palace. After a few steps in the now increasingly clear advancing dusk we were finally felt led

The climb to the summit of gravel and grass paths with a detour past the ruins of St Anthony's Chapel :: in the wilderness

When we finally reached the top, it was really dark and we had a brilliant view of the illuminated city:

What you see on the picture does not, however: It was really stormy up there, you could lay with arms outstretched in the wind. For
the descent we had a path provided on the opposite side of the mountain. He really should be the easier of the two paths. The only downside was that there was no lighting up while we had no flashlights. And so it happened as it had to: Sooner or later we were somewhere far away from all paths. The descent proved to be the remaining balance, light that difficult at times led by brick drain channels with slippery gravel remnants or between bushes round. But somehow we were finally at some point without any major incidents at the foot of the mountain on paved paths that lead us back to our hostel.

TVB moves into the region Cup semi-final one

with a 35:31 (15:11) were the masters of the TVB semi-finals region of the Cup back. As the TVB team with only 8 players on Sunday set off, it was clear that this would be due to a weakened team through injuries and suspensions a tough game. This was clear from the start, as the attempted with 14 players lined up home team HSG Idensen / 2 with plenty of pace Wunstorf The Munchausen townspeople get out of breath. But the TVB could be recording the lack of exchange opportunities, and gave the lead to 1-0 by the end no longer. Only the beginning of the second half, it was the hosts who get their hands on two goals, but the goal machine was running merrily on, and so could the victory be brought safely home, despite the half-time zwei aufgrund der Erschöpfung schwächeren Abwehrleistung.
